Gladwyne is a very affluent suburban community along the historic Main Line. Developers have not subdivided the area into a typical suburban development because Gladwyne was early to preserve space and received many donations of land. This allowed the area to retain a mixture of farm and colonial town. Within the confines of Gladwyne, it includes four churches, a synagogue, a library and two schools. Alongside are playgrounds, parks, businesses, and retail shops. Gladwyne is home to the Philadelphia Country Club, Merion Cricket Club and The Courts, a private tennis club. Gladwyne is also conveniently located twenty minutes from the city for people to enjoy events and restaurants the city offers.
